Avengers Endgame PLOT HOLES revealed in Captain America returning Infinity Stones video

In the closing scenes of Avengers Endgame, Captain America was tasked with returning all six Infinity Stones and Thor’s hammer Mjolnir to their relevant times in history. Of course, we never see this journey before he headed back to the 1940s to be with Peggy. However, it’s easy to imagine what happened off-screen and now How It Should Have Ended have animated a hilarious new video called How Captain America Should Have Returned The Stones. But apart from being a tongue-in-cheek filling in of the gaps, the animation points out some major plot holes in that journey.

First off, he returns to 2023, pointing out that he doesn’t have Loki’s sceptre.

After all, Ant-Man took it back to the future in 2012 with the Mind Stone inside it.

Without the sceptre where exactly would Cap have put the yellow Infinity Stone back?

In fact, this is the same problem with other Infinity Stone cases that Cap didn’t take back with him in Avengers Endgame.

CAPTAIN AMERICA ALMOST COLLABORATED WITH RED SKULL

Without the Space Stone being inside the Tesseract, the Infinity Stone cannot fit in its spot back in 1970.

Similarly, Cap can’t just hold the Power Stone, he’s not half-god like Peter Quill, so needs the Orb to encase it.

How he managed to get it back inside its forcefield on Morag unscathed is anyone’s guess.

Next, he had to inject Jane Foster with the Aether made from the Reality Stone in 2013 Asgard – presumably, this would have been an awkward interaction.

And of course, there’s his inevitable meeting with Red Skull on Vormir when returning the Soul Stone.

On this off-screen meeting, Avengers Endgame directors The Russo Brothers said: “Red Skull would probably put the Soul Stone back to its location, and wait for the next unfortunate stone seeker to make a sacrifice. Cap and Red Skull probably won’t fight. It’s because it’s his mission to return the Stone to its original place.

“The Red Skull is also no longer the same Red Skull from The First Avenger. He is more like a ghost, you could almost say he’s a completely different entity now.

“He only exists to guard the stone, his past conscious may or may not exist anymore.”
