Manchester United sacked Mourinho back in December, choosing to axe the Portuguese following a terrible start to the Premier League season.
It was the first time in the club’s history they had moved a manager on midway through a campaign, with the Red Devils previously standing by the likes of David Moyes and Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho set the tone for what would be a Manchester United disaster during last year’s pre-season tour of the US.
There, the 56-year-old publicly expressed his unhappiness with several aspects of life at the club.
He spent much of the tour aiming digs at Ed Woodward over his failure to land a centre-back.
And he described the tour as ’s***’ while on the phone to a confidant.
And the Daily Mail say United players were fearful of Mourinho during their time in Beverly Hills 12 months ago.
It is claimed that they feared their manager spotting them if they were to go socialising on a night out on the town.
Mourinho would supposedly stand extremely close to United players during training, checking to see if he could smell alcohol on their breath.
But now, under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, things are different.
Solskjaer is not low on discipline, he’s introduced tough training sessions in a bid to whip his players into shape.
He has, though, allowed them to socialise.
A video went viral recently showing Scott McTominay wooing a content group of players during a bar.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, the two new signings of the Solskjaer era, both sang as well as part of an initiation ceremony.
United players have reportedly been partaking in shopping trips.
And the likes of Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof have chosen to take a trip to Cottesloe Beach during their time abroad.
What’s more, is that the United staff are a happy bunch as well.
A year ago, fresh from losing Rui Faria as his assistant, Mourinho isolated himself from the rest of the group.
But Solskjaer and coaching staff such as Mike Phelan, Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna have all been socialising as well.
Some members of staff have reportedly been seen hitting the local casinos. And the United camp is far closer than it was a year ago.
