Rachel Riley, 33, gave Countdown viewers an insight into her marriage with Russian dancer Pasha Kovalev, 39, after she admitted the former Strictly Come Dancing professional had been “slacking”. The pregnant presenter shared the surprising revelation after hearing Rory Bremner, 58, reading a romantic Russian poem on the Channel 4 show. The impressionist asked Rachel: “Has Pasha ever said this to you?” and went on to recite the poem. She responded by saying no in Russian and shaking her head with a wry smile.
The studio audience burst into fits of giggles before Rory explained: “It’s a love poem by Pushkin.”
Rachel and Rory went on to discuss Russian words, including the story behind the word for train station in the language.
The comedian said: “So the Russian for a station is Vokzal and this is because there was a Russian delegation of politicians who came to London, they were travelling to Waterloo.
“One of them said to their hosts, ‘What do you call this place here?’ and they were going through Vauxhall so he thought they meant the station.
“So now the Russian for station is Vokzal.”
Rachel seemed impressed by Rory’s language facts as she applauded him along with the audience.
Rachel shared a snap from their trip in view of her 646,800 Twitter followers.
The blonde beauty was pictured wearing a pink bikini as she showed off her blossoming baby bump while tucking into some ice cream.
Rachel captioned the stunning shot: “The Bahamas may have swimming pigs (bucket-list) but Mallorca has beach duck!!! #BeachBirds.”
Rachel also admitted her bump is “loving ice cream”, as she responded to a Twitter user in reference to the craving.
Addressing the size of her bump, the Channel 4 star said: “Aah who cares so long as it’s healthy.
“I’m working on ‘untidying’ mine anyway, bump loves ice cream. Lots of love with yours.”
