Louise Minchin: BBC Breakfast presenter reacts to co-star Dan Walker’s ‘new job’

Louise Minchin, 50, and Dan Walker, 42, presented BBC Breakfast outside of Parliament yesterday, ahead of Boris Johnson becoming prime minister.

The two had to deal with the extreme heat in London, as they basked in the sunshine.

The weather certainly got to the pair, with Dan even having to take his tie off to help himself cool down.

In a clip posted to his Twitter account, Dan could be seen trying to help Louise out by using a fan.

The presenter joked cooling Louise down was his “new job”.

Dan captioned the short clip: “I have a new job #BBCBreakfast ⁦@louiseminchin.”

⁩Louise replied to the post and thanked him for using the fan on her.

She responded: “Excellent fan work, thanks @mrdanwalker Enjoy the sunshine everyone!”

Earlier in the day, Dan shared a picture of him and Louise ahead of presenting the BBC One show.

The star pointed out Louise was wearing trainers, as they presented outside of the studio.

“Morning @louiseminchin rocking the casual footwear,” he wrote next to the snap.

One fan urged Dan to host wearing just his shirt, as they warned him about the hot weather conditions.

“Get the jacket off Dan, you’re going to melt!” said one viewer.

The presenter replied: “Sweat-patches,” alongside a laughing, crying emoji. “Long established TV rule. No-one likes to see a wet armpit.”

Elsewhere, a fan questioned Dan on the price of moving their show from their studio in Salford to London.

One fan said: “Should have stayed in Manchester. Not only cooler but the license-fee payer might have saved a few quid…..(!)”

However, Dan hit back as he pointed out it wasn’t an issue to move the show.

“How much do you think it really cost? Studio already here. Crew already here.

“Louise got a standard class train ticket & stayed with a friend last night and I drove myself. Thanks for watching.”

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One from 6am.
