Churchill 'would NOT like opportunist Boris Johnson, he lacks gumption' says WW2 PM actor

This afternoon Boris Johnson fulfilled his lifelong ambition of becoming Prime Minister, following in the footsteps of his hero Sir Winston Churchill. In fact, the new PM recently penned a book on his World World II predecessor called The Churchill Factor. But while Boris may see himself as something of a 21st century Churchill dealing with this generation’s crisis, an actor who recently played the great man claims he wouldn’t have had much time for someone like the new prime minister. A couple of years ago Brian Cox starred in Churchill and claimed that Boris lacked the gumption to be like the legendary world leader.

The actor said: “He was the first person who really talked about the United States of Europe.

“So he would not be at all happy with [Brexit] and he would have a lot to say about it.”

He even referenced Boris in that interview too: “Particularly to a certain blonde, who rather fancies himself – and he ain’t anywhere near it.”

Meanwhile, Boris revealed his favourite films during the Conservative Leadership Hustings.

Asked what made him laugh, he said: “The Pink Panther, I have to admit, I think is incredibly funny.”

“It’s fantastically funny, I almost retch with laughter when watching the Pink Panther. Dodgeball – brilliant movie.”

Meanwhile, the new Prime Minister’s favourite movie scene will raise some eyebrows.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, the 55-year-old revealingly said: “The multiple retribution killings at the end of The Godfather.”
