Bohemian Rhapsody left Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson ‘in SHREDS at end, I had to leave’

Queen guitarist Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson has spoken out on her first reaction to seeing Bohemian Rhapsody. Appearing on Loose Women this week, the 70-year-old EastEnders star said: “The first time I saw a rough cut of the film I was in shreds at the end I had to leave and go and sit in the ladies for a while.” Meanwhile, she praised Rami Malek’s Freddie Mercury.

On visiting Bohemian Rhapsody’s set, she said: “I did. It was amazing.

“I went on the very first day they started filming when they did the Live Aid scene, and it was extraordinary.

“Rami [Malek], who plays Freddie, was amazing.

“From the moment they started recording he was Fred. For me, it was very emotional.”

INCREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENT FOR BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY THIS LAST WEEK

She elaborated: “But please don’t give me the s**t in that movie about Brian [May] doing this, and Brian doing that.

“Brian did what Freddie told him to do, and that’s it.”

“And you know what? It’s like finally these two [drummer Roger Taylor and May] have got to their late 60s, and finally, finally, they have got the attention that they always wanted, but never got because of Freddie.

“As you say, you watched Queen you didn’t give a s**t about anybody else. You were drawn to Freddie.”
