According to a report from EOnline, Wendy Williams is gearing up to produce a biopic about herself for Lifetime. The movie purports to show the small-screen star at her worst and at her best, moreover, from her time as merely discussing celebrity news and also, on occasion, being the subject of them.
Lifetime stated in their press release that the project will showcase a very “revealing” perspective on Wendy’s life, including the beginnings of her career on urban radio until her time as a television show host. Lifetime described Wendy as particularly resilient, and laid the responsibility for her success on “strength and determination.”
Leigh Davenport was the one the pen the script and production is scheduled to begin in Fall of 2019 with a release date a year later in 2020. Moreover, it’ll be accompanied by a documentary as well.
As most know, this is just one of many documentaries released by Lifetime as of late, with Surviving R. Kelly being their most impactful. The aforementioned documentary allegedly played a crucial role in the public’s demand for Kelly to be behind bars.
Since the movie hit the small-screen, R. Kelly’s legal troubles have exploded, with both New York and Chicago’s district attornies pressing charges and now he’s being hit with a federal case on trafficking and child pornography charges.
Furthermore, the network is also gearing up to produce a series on Jeffrey Epstein, called, Surviving Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein has been accused of human trafficking and sex crimes.
In addition to sexual assault crimes, the network is getting ready to produce a documentary on the much-publicized scandal, the College Admissions fiasco, involving Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, among many others.
The Wendy Williams documentary comes at a particularly turbulent time for the television show host, as she recently began the divorce process with her estranged hubby, Kevin Hunter, who was an executive producer on her show.

Kevin allegedly got another woman pregnant, and this predicament reportedly had something to do with Wendy’s fall back into drinking, and her subsequent participation in a sober living home for women.
