Emmerdale spoilers: Nate Robinson's revenge for Cain Dingle flawed in Moira affair twist?

Nate’s (played by Jurell Carter) true intentions for his upcoming affair with Moira (Natalie J Robb) were revealed in tonight’s visit to Emmerdale as he devised a plan to help girlfriend Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) get custody of her son Kyle, with whom she shares with Cain (Jeff Hordely).

The village bad boy has been reluctant to give the mother of his son access, with Amy now pursuing seeking legal counsel on how she can get her custody of Kyle.

Seeing Amy so upset by the ordeal, Nate was seen doing some digging into Moira and Cain’s relationship in tonight’s instalment of the ITV soap to see how best to approach trying to bridge a wedge between the husband and wife.

One such revelation was Moira’s chequered past with the men of the village, including having a brief dalliance with her nephew Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan), planting the seeds of a plan in Nate’s mind.

The handsome farmhand had also witnessed an altercation between Moira and Cain when the wife admitted at the breakfast table her husband hadn’t ways been the committed spouse he makes himself out to be.

Cain later confided in his uncle Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) about his material problems, telling him he wanted nothing less than to be like his father, Shadrach Dingle (Andy Devine).

Giving his nephew some advice, Zak told Moira’s disheveled husband: “You know, I was really proud of you when settled down with Moria. Seemed like you were finally keeping your wild side in check.”

“I was hoping that this time, it was for keeps,” Zak continued, to which Cain added: “It’s not just me who’s made mistakes.”

“Moira’s had a fair share and I’ve stood by her,” the village bad boy explained, with Zak telling him straight: “Well it don’t seem that way when you come and go without telling her what’s going on.”

“Maybe she thinks you don’t really care anymore,” Zak opined, with Cain admitting: “Ok, I messed up. What do you want me to do?”

“Just stop taking her for granted, Zak told Cain, with the troublesome character trying to be more affectionate with his wife when Moira stopped by the pub.

However, Moira was more interested in getting some help down on the farm before walking out, leaving her husband bemused once more.

Watching the drama unfold, Nate revelled in glee his opportunity to ruin Cain and Moira’s marriage had come and with Amy still worrying abut the custody battle, he told her: “When this blows up, you will start to look like the safest option for Kyle.”

Nate and Moira’s steamy affair will get underway this week and will continue to play throughout the summer as Cain and Amy continue to dispute what’s best for their son.

Many would believe Cain would be furious with his wife for betraying him, but what if his love for Moira is stronger than the need to be bitter about her affair?

With Cain having loved and lost many times during his time in the Dales and his marital issues with Moira constantly bringing the pair back together, could the village bad boy forgive his wife for sleeping with another man?

Of course, Cain isn’t one to let an overhand on him go without repercussions, so could his anger instead be directed towards Nate by which he possibly seeks deadly revenge?

Moira actress Natalie J Robb recently spoke out about her character’s affair on Cain and why she pursues a younger man in Nate.

“A lot of it is down to the fact that she feels neglected,” Natalie told What’s On TV, adding: “She has been working at the farm like a Trojan and looking after the kids, and Cain has been neglecting her, emotionally.

“She doesn’t necessarily always need the physical side of things, but if she doesn’t get the emotional stuff, that’s when she feels like she needs something else,” Natalie commented.

Emmerdale continues Tuesday at 7pm on ITV.
