Man Utd make contact with Paulo Dybala representatives: Ed Woodward plans bid

Manchester United could land Juventus forward Paulo Dybala in the coming weeks for under £100million as both clubs continue a reshuffle of their playing squads.

Argentina international Dybala joined the Turin giants in 2015 for a fee of £35million from former Serie A rivals Palermo.

The 25-year-old enjoyed three fine seasons at the club scoring a total of 68 goals, but saw his form drop last time out after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato have now claimed that due to Dybala’s growing frustration, he has instructed his brother and agent Mariano to make contact with United, PSG and Bayern Munich.

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri will have to make a difficult decision on Dybala’s future should the player’s valuation be met, with the Italian unlikely to force a wantaway player to stay judging by the comments he made about Eden Hazard while at Chelsea.

After leaving London for his native Italy, Sarri was quick to outline the dynamic forward as central to his plans, and could offer the player a new contract in order to secure his future.

“When you have a player with the qualities of Paulo or Cristiano, they can play in any role,” Sarri stated last month.

“What can change is only the interpretation of the role.

“I’ll probably talk to two or three players before the start of the season to share ideas, compare and understand the way they think and their characteristics.

“You have to start with the talented players who can make the difference like Cristiano, Paulo and Douglas [Costa], and build around them.”

If United bosses can tempt Dybala for force a move it will be seen as a massive transfer coup ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season as boss, with the news of their interest coming just a day after the Norwegian outlined his desire to secure more new signings.

The ex-Molde manager may have made his transfer requests to his bosses in Manchester clear, but he also revealed that he won’t hold a grudge if no further deals are completed.

He said: “My job is of course to manage the circumstances and the squad that I’ve got.

“But people will tell you I’m not angry for very long.

“The players know when I am angry but we get it sorted and move on and I’m the same with my kids.

“Of course I have my targets – but I won’t bear grudges if I don’t get them. The club know my views on what we need.”
