Melania Trump's heartwarming appeal forces Donald to intervene in A$AP Rocky case

Reality star Kim Kardashian West and her husband rapper Kanye West have also lobbied Trump to advocate on behalf of A$AP Rocky who has been in prison since last month, according to CBS News. Trump said: “Sweden is a great country, they are friends of mine, the leadership. And we are going to be calling. We will be talking to them. We’ve already started.”

“Many, many members of the African American community have called me, friends of mine, and said, ‘could you help?’

So I personally don’t know A$AP Rocky but I can tell you he has a lot of support from the African American community in this country.”

He continued: “And when I say African American, I can really say from everybody in this country, because we are all one.”

Trump also said he had first heard of A$AP Rocky’s situation from Melania.

He said: “Actually the one who knew about A$AP Rocky was our first lady, right? She was telling me about ‘Can you help A$AP Rocky?'”

Trump then asked his wife whether she wanted to make a statement.

She said: ”Well, we will be working with State Department, and we hope to get him home soon.”

Trump later tweeted on Friday afternoon that he had spoken with Mr West about A$AP Rocky’s situation.

He said: “Just spoke to Kanye West about his friend A$AP Rocky’s incarceration.

“I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky.

“So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!”

Ms Kardashian West later tweeted her gratitude to Trump, his son-in-law Jared Kushner and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for helping the rapper.

She said: “Thank you Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free A$AP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated.”

Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers allegedly got into a fight on June 30 with two men who had been harassing the artist, according to TMZ.

Top Swedish prosecutor Petra Lundh did not say whether Rocky would be released as a result of calls from the US.

She said: “The fact that a suspect or a plaintiff is known is no reason for the person to receive a special treatment.”
