MANCHESTER UNITED vs INTER MILAN

  • Romelu Lukaku, a key transfer target for Inter Milan, will miss his third straight friendly
  • David De Gea and Luke Shaw will be available after illness and a hamstring issue respectively
  • New signings Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James are set to start together for the second time
  • The Red Devils have beaten Perth Glory and Leeds in their opening two pre-season fixtures

Rejected!

11:30: Ah, I see, mind games going on today from Inter Milan. Clearly desperate to land a MASSIVE International Champions Cup victory…

OK, perhaps not. Manchester United have rejected a £54million offer from Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku.

The 26-year-old striker has yet to feature on the Reds’ pre-season tour due to unexplained niggles.

United received a £54m bid from Inter two days ago, which was rejected out of hand as it falls well short of their valuation.

Reaction

11:25: Having scanned Twitter for just a few moments – I can see that Manchester United supporters are generally happy with that starting XI.

With the exception of Nemanja Matic captain of course…

Tirmula: WTF! Nemanja Matic is the captain?! He should not be there in the team itself!

Luke: Pretty sure that would be the strongest team we could field against Chelsea on the opening day as things stand. Harry Maguire in for Axel Tuanzebe if we get that deal over the line you’d say.

Prati: That defence and those lads in the front three is the future. Replace Nemanja Matic with Scott McTominay. Get in James Garner for Jesse Lingard and we have our playing 11.

Manchester United XI…

11:20: And the United line-up has arrived everyone. Obviously there’s no sign of Romelu Lukaku for the third successive game – but we knew that anyway.

MUFC XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Shaw; Pogba, Matic; James, Lingard, Martial; Rashford.

Subs: Pereira, Romero, Bailly, Dalot, Damian, Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Young, Andres Pereira, Fred, Garner, Gomes, Mata, McTominay, Chong, Greenwood.

Alright…

11:15: Hello everyone and welcome to our LIVE coverage of Manchester united vs Inter Milan.

The wait is over. Finally the prestigious 2019 International Champions Cup has arrived for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Everyone’s been talking about it…

Sarcasm aside, today’s clash at Singapore’s National Stadium should be a stern test for the Red Devils after routine wins over Perth Glory and Leeds.

Another positive about this fixture is that I get to switch off the abysmal clash between Newcastle and West Ham. Dire would be an understatement.

Ready for the line-ups?
