Fortnite event news today is headlined by confirmation of the start date and time for the Final Showdown monster vs robot battle.
The big Fortnite season 9 event, which is taking place ahead of the season 10 launch, will see the Pressure Plant mech face off against a huge monster.
The kaiju was previously seen trapped in ice underneath Polar Peak, and it arrived there after the volcanic eruption at the end of Fortnite season 8.
In the run-up to the Fortnite event dataminers discovered plenty of files relating to the so-called ‘cattus doggus’ live event.
It’s believed that the Fortnite event will see players get jetpacks to watch all the action, and they’ll have unlimited fuel to view the battle unfold.
Ahead of the start of the Fortnite season 9 event, which is called the Final Showdown, Epic Games has confirmed when the start date and time will be.
Earlier this week the official Fortnite Twitter posted: “T-minus – 72 Hours till The Final Showdown. #FortniteEvent”.
This tweet was posted at 7pm BST on Wednesday, which would mean the Fortnite Final Showdown event will kick off on Saturday at 7pm UK time.
This would be 2pm eastern time and 11am pacific time.
This is in keeping with the start time for previous Fortnite events which kicked off at 7pm UK time on a Saturday.
Ahead of the Fortnite event start date and time Epic Games has released a new outfit and emotes that have a Final Showdown theme.
First up is the new Mecha Team Leader Outfit which comes with the Built-In Turbocharged emote.
This is available in the item shop now, and shows the mech that will be fighting off against the Fortnite monster.
Elsewhere Battle Royale fans can pick up emotes which show which side you’re on in the Fortnite Final Showdown.
Fortnite fans can get a Team Mech emote or a Team Monster emote, both of which are available in the Fortnite item shop now.
