ITV has confirmed Love Island will see three new Islanders arriving at the villa imminently in the form of professional rugby player Greg O’Shea, estate agent Harley Brash and model India Reynolds. Love Island fans are eager to discover more about Greg after learning he was rugby player. Who does Love Island’s Greg O’Shea play rugby for?

Greg is a Rugby Union player and is part of the Irish national sevens team.

He is usually a Fly-half and has previously played as a winger.

The athlete started off playing rugby at school and was part of the Shannon RFC team from the age of seven.

WHO IS GREG O’SHEA ON LOVE ISLAND?

Along with his rugby career, Greg used to do athletics internationally and even attended the Youth Olympics in 2011.

He also won medals on All-Ireland track and field events for Dooneen AC.

Athletics runs in the family with both his parents sprinting for Ireland previously.

In 2013, Greg joined the Munster Rugby Academy and gave up athletics to focus on rugby.

He has also represented Munster for two years on their Under-18 and Under-20 teams.

Greg has previously represented Ireland in the Under-18s team for two years as well as the Under-19s and Under-20s.

WHO IS INDIA REYNOLDS?

He is hoping to make the Irish rugby sevens team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The sportsman was part of the Ireland squad for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2018.

He admitted his career has affected his love life, explaining: “I’ve only been single for the last year. I was with a girl for four years before that and in a relationship for five years before that. I’ve always been in relationships.

“I saw myself marrying the last girl I was with, I was saving up for a ring but she called it a day after our lives together just didn’t work out.

“My career means I’m away travelling a lot and she was struggling with that in the relationship.

“It hurt a lot and it took a lot of friends and family to pick me up after that.

“Out of respect to myself, her and how great our relationship was, I didn’t date anyone for six months after we broke up so have only been open to getting out there again in the past few months.

“I have been on a few dates with girls I’ve met organically. I don’t believe in dating apps, I’ve never been on them.”

Once he’s finished appearing on Love Island, Greg will be focusing on making the team for Tokyo 2020, according the Irish Indecent.
