Crucial's massive 2TB SSD is $184 in this Amazon Prime Day lightning deal

There are a lot of cheap SATA SSDs around these days. But many of them, even from big brands, are very poor performers. But not the Crucial MX500. It’s the real deal with TLC rather than low-performing QLC flash memory, just for starters. This deal is running for the next two hours, then it’s gone:

TLC rather than QLC aside, the MX500 packs a full 1GB of DDR3-1600 cache memory, a luxury that you don’t see on budget drives and which makes a major difference to sustained performance. It’s a feature enabled by the Silicon Motion SM2258 controller, which is a decent quality item with all the features needed for a quick, reliable SSD.

Overall, this isn’t the fastest SATA on the market. But it’s close enough that you won’t notice the difference in practice. At this price point, it’s a no brainer if you’re after a SATA rather than M.2 drive.
