Love Island 2019: Amber AND Joanna warned 'get rid of toxic two-faced Michael'

Love Island 2019 has just weeks left before the grand final, where one pair will scoop the £50,000 prize money. However, before getting there, the islanders will undoubtedly have to navigate plenty more ups and downs, recouplings and (probably) break-ups. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Match’s dating expert Hayley Quinn warned both 27-year-old Michael Griffith’s former love interest Amber Gill, 21, and his new flame Joanna Chimonides, 22, to ditch the hunk. With Amber coming clean about her feelings in last night’s episode, shortly before Joanna and Michael learned one of them must be dumped from the island, Hayley said: “In the love triangle between Joanna, Amber and Michael, one thing is clear – this toxic triangle should break up!

“Whilst Amber seemed genuinely distraught to have broken up with Michael, his actions appear more cunning and somewhat two-faced,” she explained.

Recalling the drama of last week, she continued; “His recent conversation with Joanna echoed his first ‘dumping’ of Amber.

“He asked Joanna, ‘do you really want this?” in a seeming attempt to push the decision to break up on to her.

“He also exclaimed that the love triangle situation was ‘hard for me’, which demonstrated how self-involved Michael can be,” she added.

The dating expert went on to say Michael’s commitment to Joanna was “very much in question”.

“My dating advice to both women would be to get rid of this toxic guy!” she concluded.

During last night’s action-packed instalment of Love Island, Michael was confronted by Amber, who decided to express her feelings for him openly, leaving the ball in his court.

The cosy chat didn’t appear to impress Joanna, who gave her man a cold response when he showed up back at her side, looking slightly shell-shocked.

Just moments later, however, disaster struck the couple when they learned they were in the bottom two couples as voted for by the viewers.

Then, the remaining islanders chose to save Anna Vakili, 28, and Jordan Hames, 24, over Michael and Joanna.

The blows weren’t over for the pair either, as host Caroline Flack, 39, proceeded to inform them only one would be leaving Love Island and it would be their fellow islanders who would be choosing which.

Tonight, the contestants chose to keep Michael in their midst, leaving Joanna dumped.

A tense stand-off ensued, with Joanna shrugging her beau off when he went to hug her goodbye, first saying her farewells to the rest of the islanders.

When they finally came face-to-face, she called branded the hunk a “snake” for saying he’d “found what he was looking for” but not choosing to exit with her.

In an odd turn, she then seemed to urge him to stay and give his relationship with Amber a go.

“What would you do if you were in my position?” he asked, questioning whether she was saying their romance was never “real” for her.

“I don’t know,” she replied.

Love Island 2019 continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.

Match’s dating expert, Hayley Quinn shares her expert opinion on this year’s Love Island, questioning the compatibility of certain couples and whether some are more committed than others.
