A Quiet Place 2 Production Announced by John Krasinski – IGN News

Filming on A Quiet Place 2 has officially begun ahead of its May 15, 2020, release date.Writer and director John Krasinski announced the commencement of filming on Twitter (via ComingSoon) by posting the image below, along with the hashtag “PartII.”

The sequel, at least in part, is being filmed in upstate New York, in two small towns outside of Buffalo, according to Syracuse.com. Emily Blunt will reprise her role in Part II, alongside Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, the child actors from the original. New additions to the cast include Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) and Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders).

The Quiet Place 2 story will focus on the world’s alien origins, while also telling the tales of survivors beyond the family from the first film, according to Henry.

The hit 2018 original had the second-biggest domestic opening of the year at the time of its release. It went on to earn $340.9 million USD worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

IGN’s A Quiet Place review called it “surprisingly satisfying,” thanks to its “simple but effective premise” and “propulsive performances.”
