Amanda Holden revealed she is ‘thrilled’ to launch music career with HUGE record deal

Amanda Holden, 48, is set to launch a singing career after she signed a £1million deal with Virgin EMI. The Britain’s Got Talent judge caught the attention of several record companies when she showed off her vocals in a video, which went viral earlier this year. Amanda sang her own version of Tightrope from hit movie The Greatest Showman in the clip alongside her two daughters Hollie Rose Hughes, 7, and Alexa Louise Florence Hughes, 13. According to The Sun, the star was the subject of a bidding war between Warner, Sony and Universal due to her performance in the video.

However, Virgin managed to snap her up instead, with a source explaining to the publication: “Amanda only signed the deal a matter of weeks ago but she is very excited and can’t wait to get going.”

The insider also revealed Amanda sought the advice of BGT head judge Simon Cowell, 59, before she committed to the record contract.

They added: “Simon was almost the first person Amanda spoke to. Amid all the excitement, she wanted an honest opinion from someone she trusts.

“He told her to absolutely go for it and said she has his full backing.”

Amanda announced the exciting news in view of her 1.2 million followers on Instagram today.

She shared a photo of herself beaming with delight as she signed on the dotted line to kickstart her career in music.

The glamorous TV personality stunned in a floral summer dress in the picture and wore her blonde locks straight.

She added the caption: “Bloody thrilled to confirm I have signed an amazing record deal with @VIRGINEMI.

“It has been a lifetime’s dream!!!!! Just cannot wait to get started…”

Fans took to the comments section of Amanda’s post to share their congratulatory wishes with the Heart Radio host.

One wrote: “Congratulations darling!! I’m so happy for you, you’re going to be AMAZING xx.”

Another added: “So proud of you Amanda!!!! Can’t wait to buy the album and hopefully get to see you on tour!!!”

A third commented: “This is very exciting. I heard you sing in a country music documentary many years ago and you have the loveliest voice. 2019 seems to be the year of Amanda and I wish you big success.”

A fourth replied: “Congratulations… Wonderful to achieve your dreams!”

Amanda’s record deal news comes after she dedicated her recording of Tightrope to her husband Chris Hughes.

Back in December last year, she shared the video with her two million Twitter followers with the caption: “A fantastic Daddy and husband.

“We made this little video for #TheGreatestshowman in our life to celebrate #10 years married and Chrispy’s birthday today. We’re sharing this with you too and wish you all a happy & joyous Christmas.”
