Spider Man Far From Home end credits: The SIX major bombshells you might have missed

Spider-Man Far From Home is the latest superhero epic to hit cinemas. Marvel fans know to stick around for the end credits and this movie does not disappoint. The latest Spider-Man movie has two end credit scenes and these are six bombshells in them which you might have missed.

Tom Holland has returned as Peter Parker for the second part of Sony + Marvel’s Spider-Man venture.

This time round Spider-Man heads to Europe on holiday with school mates but his trip is interrupted by destructive forces known as Elementals.

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits a reluctant Spider-Man to fight the Elementals alongside a new character, self-styled superhero Quentin Beck aka Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal).

While the new movie continues the story arc from the first Spider-Man film it is also the first Marvel to be set after Avengers: Endgame.

This means the film addresses the large Tony Stark-shaped hole in the MCU and sets the scene for the next phase of the Marvel storyline.

The movie’s two end credit scenes drop huge hints about what is two come for both Spider-Man and the MCU as a whole.

These are the six massive post credit bombshells you might have missed.

The Daily Bugle

In the first end credit scene, The New York tabloid which Peter Parker works for as a photographer in the Marvel comics is finally introduced into the MCU.

But with one massive difference, the publication is now an online controversial news site – The Daily Bugle.net

Spider-Man unmasked

The Daily Bugle.net is the platform Mysterio uses to wreak havoc on Spider-Man from beyond the grave.

The site broadcasts doctored footage of Spiderman appearing to order a drone strike on innocent people.

Then Mystery reveals Spider-Man’s true identity leaving Peter fearing for his future.

This end credit scene sets up the storyline for the next Spider-Man film in several ways.

As it is not clear how much the general public trust The Daily Bugle.net, there is potential for New Yorkers to rally around Spider-Man and come to his defence in the next film.

Spider-Man grappling with his unmasking will almost certainly form part of the plot in the next movie.

How much people within the MCU believe the Bugle.net video or dismiss it as fake news will also likely be a key theme in Spider-Man 3.

J. Jonah Jameson

Fans may remember J. Jonah Jameson as editor of The Daily Bugle in Toby Maguire’s days as Spider-Man.

Well, he’s back but now he’s a fake news pundit on The Daily Bugle.net.

Actor J.K. Simmons played Jameson in the Raimi’s Spider-Man movies and he has reprised the role for the post-credit scene and most likely, the next film too.

He is introduced in the first end credit scene reporting on the conspiracy theory of Spider-Man’s true identity.

Skrulls

The second end credit scene shifts away from New York and seems to set up things for the future of the MCU.

It turns out Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) are not as they seem and are revealed to be shapeshifting Skrull leader Talos and his wife.

The space creatures are filling in for the pair the agents while they take a much-needed holiday.

The clip shows Fury relaxing on board a Skrull vessel.

This revelation poses the question of many times Fury and Talos have switched places since the 90s, and whether Talos was actually posing as Fury in any other MCU movies.

The scene confirms Talos and Fury have stayed in touch since the events of Captain Marvel and have been working together, though it’s unclear what exactly they’ve been working on.

This sets the stage for future Skull reveals and suggests further intergalactic storylines.

Nick Fury and the Skrulls

While Talos was standing in for Fury on earth it seems Fury has been working on something with the Skrulls.

At first, Fury appears to be lounging on a pitch before he switches off the projection and the spaceship is revealed.

He shouts at the Skrulls to “get back to work” which seems to be a massive hint towards the next film’s plot.

S.W.O.R.D

Comic fans seem to think Fury’s work on the ship could be linked to S.W.O.R.D. (Sentient World Observation and Response Department).

In the comics, the organization is akin to S.H.I.E.L.D., but focuses on extraterrestrial rather than terrestrial threats – so there may be more space battles to come.

While the first film of Phase 4 has yet to be announced, the Spider-Man Far From Home end credit scenes set things up nicely for the next stage.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is in cinemas now.
