Boris Becker confirms Novak Djokovic rumour with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal claim

A constant rumour in the tennis world is that Djokovic is often frustrated that his rivals Federer and Nadal gets more love than he does.

Fuel was added to that fire when the Serbian grew increasingly frustrated with how much support his Wimbledon semi-final opponent Roberto Bautista Agut received earlier today.

World No 1 Djokovic used being the pantomime villain to fire himself up and into Sunday’s final.

There he will face the winner of Federer vs Nadal – who will likely be the fan favourite.

And Becker has revealed Djokovic was once bothered about affection his rivals receive.

“We are talking about two of the most successful not tennis players but sportsmen in the world,” Becker told the BBC.

“Novak has millions of fans from all over the world. He is highly popular.

“But was something that we spoke about but it is not something he is interested in now.

“But there was a time when he was bothered about it, yes.”

Meanwhile, Djokovic spoke in his post-Bautista Agut press conference about how he will have to deal with his emotions if the fans love Federer or Nadal more than him in the Wimbledon final.

“Look, it wouldn’t be the first time playing against Nadal nor Federer on the Centre Court,” Djokovic said.

“I’ve had that experience more than once. As I said, I know what to expect.

“I’m going to go out there and fight and give it all. It’s finals of Wimbledon.

“This is the kind of a match that I always dreamt of as a young boy with the tennis racquet, dreamt of being part of. This is what I worked for. I wanted to be in this position.

“I have a chance to fight for a trophy. Regardless of who’s across the net or what is happening around, I’ll definitely give it all.”
