Property for sale: A two-bed home with no mortgage could be yours for £15,000 – why?

In order to buy a house, many Britons will need to spend years saving up. However, one house is sure to turn heads as it has been listed on RightMove for just £15,000. The home has two bedrooms and is situated in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester. It boasts stunning period features which could make the small asking price even more puzzling.

Inside, potential buyers will find an entrance hallway which is equipped with a wooden front door, tiled floors and stairs which lead to the first floor.

As well as being equipped with modern amenities, the lounge has a fire place and beamed ceiling.

The dining kitchen is fitted with cupboards, a gas hob, built in oven and room for a washing machine and fridge.

The kitchen also has tiled floors, part tiled walls and double glazed French doors which open up onto the rear garden.

The listing said: “The house is not listed but has been sympathetically restored and enhanced using traditional materials and methods so as to bring out its full character.”

Upstairs, viewers will find two large bedrooms, a fully fitted family bathroom and a mezzanine floor.

The house is also equipped with double glazed windows and central heating radiators.

Other homes in the area have recently sold for over £100,000, so why is this house so cheap?

A quick scan of the advert explained the property is only available on a part-buy part-rent scheme.

Potential buyers will pay £15,000 as a deposit and they will still be required to pay a weekly rent of £230.

To buy the house in full, homeowners would need to fork out £205,000.

Recently, a modern two-bed house in Newcastle was listed for a tiny £37,000.

The property had recently been decorated and had two bedrooms and a family bathroom.

However, the cheap asking price only gave the buyer a 25 per cent share in the home.

A three bedroom house in County Durham was selling on Zoopla for just £34,999.

A look at the advert revealed this was only the starting price as the property is to be sold at auction later this month.
