Pogba’s agent has confirmed the Frenchman wants to leave Old Trafford.
Real Madrid are known to be keen on signing Pogba, however are yet to make an official bid.
Manchester United want to keep hold of the former Juventus man, who is with the Red Devils in Australia.
But Goal claim that Pogba could hand in a transfer request to force through a move.
It comes with Solskjaer defending Pogba Down Under, despite Mino Raiola’s comments.
“It’s an agenda against Paul, he’s a great, great professional, never been any problems, he has a heart of gold,” said the Norwegian.
“Jesse and Paul yesterday walking around was portrayed as a fight between the two boys and I know you’re here to sell papers and stories but they’re all professional.
“Paul’s never put himself out of the team, always given his best and I can’t report anything other than that agents talk all the time.
“I can’t be sitting here talking about Paul and what agents are saying, we’ve got a few years left of his contract and he’s been fantastic.”
Pogba had previously said he wants a new challenge after a difficult three years at United.
He recently said: “For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.
“I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.
“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
United are in Australia as they begin their pre-season preparations.
Their first game comes against Perth Glory on Saturday.
