Lumix holiday photo competition: And the winner is….

A HUGE congratulations to Gillian McDonald from Tyne & Wear, who has been selected as the winner of our holiday photo competition to win a Panasonic LUMIX TZ95 compact camera worth £400.

The winning photo: The Taj Mahal (c) Gillian McDonald

We had more than 500 photo submissions. Here’s why Lumix loved Gillian’s photo:

“What we loved about Gillian’s image is that is has the mythical feeling to it; you get a sense of the grandeur and importance of the structure to the surrounding area. The mist in front of the building creates an amazing separation between the foreground. The sky has an amazing tone and the backlight creates further depth to the image. So much of photography is being in the right place at the right time and when you have light like that available to you it makes such a difference.”
