12:15 UPDATE: Antoine Griezmann release clause

Barcelona could have a deal in place to sign Antoine Griezmann this week.

Sport claim the Catalan giants plan to activate Griezmann’s release clause in the next two days.

Griezmann’s buy-out clause dropped from £171million to £107m on July 1 and the player himself caused outrage when failing to report for pre-season last week.

Barcelona want Griezmann to join for Ernesto Valverde’s pre-season preparations and plan to ‘execute the operation between Thursday and Friday of this week’ claim Sport.

12:00 UPDATE: Mesut Ozil too expensive

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil will not be joining Fenerbahce.

That’s according to the Turkish Super Lig side, who admit they can’t afford the former Germany international.

A statement from the Super Lig side read: “Mesut Ozil, with his career and standing, successfully represents our country abroad. He is an important value known with the identity of Fenerbahce.

“However, Fenerbahce does not have a proposal for Mesut Ozil. Under the current economic conditions, such a step is not possible for both parties.

“Our president, Ali Koc, made statements on the subject in the WinWin program held on June 20 and emphasised that this could not be realised in the short term.”

11:45 UPDATE: Paul Pogba valuation

Real Madrid will need to break the Spanish transfer record to sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

That’s according to Marca, who claim Zinedine Zidane’s side will have to pay an astronomical £160million for the French midfielder.

The current highest transfer fee paid by a Spanish club remains Philippe Coutinho’s £130million move from Liverpool in January 2018.

But Pogba, who recently revealed his desire to find a new challenge elsewhere, could eclipse that if Real Madrid meet United’s valuation.

11:30 UPDATE: Arsenal hijack

Arsenal are hoping to hijack Everton’s move for Malcom.

Marco Silva’s Toffees are reported to have prepared a £31million bid for the Barcelona outcast.

However, Unai Emery thinks the Brazilian is the ideal alternative to £80m-rated Wilfried Zaha.

And The Sun claim the Gunners are trying to persuade Malcom behind the scenes to delay a move to Goodison Park while they negotiate a ‘staggered payment’ plan with Barcelona.

11:15 UPDATE: One position to fill…

Jurgen Klopp has not sanctioned any major transfer deals so far this summer but there is one area of his squad he could still look to do business.

The Reds have only signed teenage centre-back Sepp van den Berg for a fee potentially rising to £4.4million so far.

However, the Liverpool Echo insist a versatile forward remains a possibility.

They describe an addition in the position as being tentatively on the agenda although Liverpool are not after any particular targets as it stands.

In addition to Nicolas Pepe, the European champions have been linked with the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Memphis Depay and once again Nabil Fekir.
