Bruno Fernandes boost

Man Utd have received a boost in their pursuit of Bruno Fernandes after Sporting Lisbon identified a replacement for the midfielder.

SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla tweeted: “Trajkovski to Sporting Lisbon to replace Bruno Fernandes. Four-year contract, could be confirmed tomorrow.”

Palmero ace Trajkovski scored eight goals and chipped in with 11 assists last season in Serie B.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now looks set to land Fernandes to bolster his United midfield.

Lemina speaks out

Man Utd target Mario Lemina admits there is ‘no turning back’ as he pushes for a dream move to Old Trafford.

He said: “There is no turning back. I’m not afraid, I made a choice and I take it to the end.

“I aspire to play in the biggest clubs, now we will see what is proposed.

“I had chosen to leave Juventus for Southampton to have more playing time, I got it.

“I made a good impression in England, I had good returns at a certain time, so I hope clubs will not have a short memory.

“I stand by my plan, I decided to tell the leaders that I wanted to leave, there is no turning back.

“There is a risk, of course, but I know what I’m capable of, I’m 100 per cent and I’m going to prove that I can get back to my best.

“Some clubs may be more cautious, but they already know me. Today, I am fully recovered, I worked a lot. I am ready to move on.”

Lindelof to Barcelona worry

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is worried about Victor Lindelof potentially joining Barcelona.

United boss Solskjaer wants to keep hold of Lindelof this summer, with the Sweden international on the radar of Barcelona.

And The Mirror claim Solskjaer is fearful that his top defensive asset may move to Barcelona.

Lindelof’s agent Hassan Cetinkaya has confirmed Barcelona are eyeing the defender.

Maguire deal ‘inevitable’

Man Utd have been handed a major transfer boost in their pursuit if Leicester star Harry Maguire.

United have already had a £70m bid rejected by Leicester for England international Maguire.

However, according to The Sun, Leicester chiefs privately accept Maguire will leave the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes are confident of making United cough up £85m, despite Maguire being desperate to join the Red Devils.

Pogba told to leave Man Utd

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should sell Paul Pogba this summer as it’s time to cut their losses with the France star, Kleberson claims.

“It is the right move to sell Paul Pogba, he’s a great player and his talent is unbelievable,” the Brazilian told the Manchester Evening News. “But his style is a little bit different, and not particularly what Man United need.

“He could use this opportunity now to leave and get a fresh start, play in a different atmosphere, and embrace a new challenge.

“Sometimes it’s hard to come to Manchester United and adapt to play a particular style.

“It doesn’t mean he’s not a good player with great quality. There’s a lot of criticism around the players, sometimes it doesn’t always go well.

“You work hard, you want to perform for the team, but some things go wrong, and these can be out of your control.”

Mario Lemina decision

Mario Lemina has attracted immense interest from top Premier League clubs but wants to join Manchester United.

Lemina has been left out of Southampton’s pre-season trip to Austria after being approached by the Red Devils and wants to be allowed to move to Old Trafford.

The Saints midfielder, who is rated at £18million, is also being eyed by Arsenal and Leicester after standing out at St Mary’s two years after signing from Juventus.

However, The Mirror say Lemina wants to join United this summer.

Man Utd transfer target Bruno Fernandes has met with his agent ahead of a proposed transfer.

The Red Devils are keen to sign the Sporting Lisbon ace, who has also been linked with Tottenham.

And the Manchester Evening News say Fernandes has touched base with his agent Miguel Pinho before returning to pre-season training.

Fernandes, 24, wanted to discuss his future amid interest from United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warning

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed the club are working on more signings, but will not “overpay” for players as Leicester demand around £90million for Harry Maguire.

“We’re still in the market looking to do some business, as I’ve said before,” he said.

“But we’re patient, we’re Man United, we don’t have to sell and don’t have to overpay either. You have to have the right players at the right price.

“And if you look at the squad we’ve got now, there are so many good players anyway.

“I’m sure with a good pre-season behind us – that’s the main thing now – the ones who are here are working hard want to improve.

“It’s not just about fitness work, it’s about robustness, this squad needs to be more robust when the season gets going.

“Last year, we had a run of I don’t know how many games without any defeats but the end was disappointing because we couldn’t get back to winning ways and need to get back to that.

“Doing business in the football market is not going to be a quick fix overnight. And we have players here who I trust.

“There are fantastic players here, loads of players I know are gonna be successful at this club and we’ve signed two in Dan and Aaron, with their speed and hunger, with quality that will be part of that.

“And I’m coaching and managing them here, the business side of it is you have to be in the market and, as I said, we don’t have any offers for our players.”

Real Madrid swap deal snubbed

Man Utd have snubbed a player-plus-cash deal from Real Madrid for Paul Pogba, football consultant Ian McGarry claims.

“I was told that Madrid did make an initial offer last Thursday, which was of €100m [£90m] plus Dani Ceballos – who has been starring for Spain’s Under-21s in their European Under-21 championship campaign,” McGarry said on The Transfer Window podcast.

“However, United turned that down flat and said that they were only interested in cash.

“That’s clearly a signal that they do want to reinvest money rather than take any players as a makeweight.”
