Paul Gascoigne: 'I was cut to bits' Star hits boulder in quad bike crash

Paul Gascoigne, 52, told Spanish press he hit a boulder and was sent flying off his quad bike.

He told newspaper Olive Press: “I went a bit crazy going through some trees on a quad bike, hit a boulder and backflipped over the quad.

“I was cut to bits and broke my thumb – it’s well out. Look at it.”

Paul suffered a broken thumb and some scrapes, but no major injuries.

The ex-footballer is now said to be “feeling great” a week on from the incident.

Paul, also widely known as Gazza, visited Spain to undergo charity work alongside his manager.

During his time in Benidorm, he gave his social media fans an insight to his antics on Twitter.

He shared one picture of him appearing in high spirits while paragliding above the sea.

Paul also uploaded snaps of him riding a horse as well as jet ski.

He shared the pictures in view of his 370,000 Twitter followers with the caption: “Benidorm ruined me!!”

Paul’s accident comes after rapper Snoop Dogg, 47, was branded a “disgrace” for using a photo of Paul to apparently show the affects of alcohol abuse.

Snoop Dogg shared a photo to his 33 million followers on Instagram, comparing how he has changed over the years to Paul.

He shared a throwback of Paul during his days as a footballer aged 20.

Next to it was a photo of the former England midfielder from back in 2014, when he was 47.

It said alongside the photos: “Alcohol abuse.”

In comparison, Snoop captioned two pictures “marijuana abuse” as he shared a photo of him aged 20 alongside another one of him at 47.

Fans of the Paul jumped to his defence on Twitter with some branding the Instagram upload a “disgrace”.

One fan wrote: “Snoop Dogg is cancelled for going after Gazza.”

Another commented: “I saw Gazza in Sheffield the other week and he looks nothing like that. The lad looks well. #t****r.”

Paul has infamously struggled with alcohol and mental health issues in the past.

He has since hit back at Snoop Dogg on Twitter in various posts.
