The Snap vs. The Blip. What’s the difference?

SPOILERS AHEAD for Avengers: Endgame and MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has clarified the difference between The Snap and The Blip, with the former being the moment Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to destroy half of all life in the universe, and the latter being the moment that The Hulk brought everyone back in Avengers: Endgame.

As reported by CinemaBlend, Feige spoke to Fandango and cleared up the confusion created in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Characters in the latest MCU film refer to what was thought to be the disappearance and return of half of the universe as The Blip, when the fandom had quickly adopted calling it The Snap.

“It came pretty fast,” Feige explained. “We always referred to it as the Blip, and then the public started referring to it as the Snap. We think it’s funny when high school kids just call this horrific, universe-changing event the Blip. We’ve narrowed it down to, the Snap is when everybody disappeared at the end of Infinity War. The Blip is when everybody returned at the end of Endgame… and that is how we have narrowed in on the definitions.”
