Holly Willoughby, 38, slipped up on a tongue-twister on the show last week when she was debriefing one of Love Island 2019’s many surprising moments. However, what she ended up saying got her into hot water as she accidentally let slip something rather racy. Later on This Morning, Phillip Schofield, 57, couldn’t resist recapping the moment. “We’ve worked together for a long time, we’ve been mates a long times,” he said. “And then you find out something new out about your best mate that you never knew before. When you’re surprised and shocked, your knickers drop off!”
Looking scandalised, Holly chided: “Schofield! You know very well that’s not what I meant”
“That’s what you said!” Phillip chuckled. “You said, ‘My drawers dropped.’”
“That is what I said but it’s not what I meant,” Holly explained, her voice high-pitched.
Enunciated carefully, she clarified: “I meant my jaw dropped — which is hard to say…:
“Ahhh….” her This Morning co-host interjected, pretending he had only just understood.
“Jaw dropped,” she insisted, giggling: “With disastrous consequences.”
“So, your drawers don’t drop if you’re shocked?” Phillip teased.
“My drawers stay firmly in place!” Holly exclaimed, prompting more laughter from her pal.
The official This Morning Twitter account recalled the hilarious gaffe yesterday, sharing the clip with their 1.8 million followers.
“Well it’s true what they say — you learn something new every day, eh @Schofe @hollywills?” they quipped.
