Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Bruno Fernandes development, bid ready, Matthijs De Ligt twist

Paul Pogba bid

Juventus will make a £120m bid for Manchester United star Paul Pogba over the coming days.

The Sunday Times say Maurizio Sarri is targeting the Frenchman as he tries to completely revamp his newly-acquired squad.

They’re hoping that bringing Pogba back to Turin will go a long way in helping them to finally win the Champions League next season.

But, United are likely to reject the bid, as they expect Pogba to be staying at Old Trafford this summer.

Bruno Fernandes update

Bruno Fernandes has joined up with his Sporting Lisbon team-mates on their pre-season tour of Switzerland.

The Portugal international was pictured smiling and joking with team-mates before the side jetted off to Switzerland, where they will play Rapperswil on Wednesday before taking on St Gallen on Saturday.

Sporting posted a video on Twitter of the club captain posing for a photo, captioned: “See you soon, Switzerland!”

Fernandes was selected as part of Marcel Keizer’s 29-man squad making the trip central Europe amid speculation over his future, with Man Utd eyeing a move for the attacking midfielder.

Sean Longstaff bid

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Man Utd transfer chiefs to make a bid for Newcastle ace Sean Longstaff this week.

The midfielder is high on Soslkjaer’s summer wish-list, which has already had two names ticked off it, after an impressive season at St. James’ Park.

And according to The Times, the Norwegian is ready to make his move for the 21-year-old.

They claim the Red Devils are willing to offer Newcastle £30million for Longstaff.

Matthijs de Ligt twist

Man Utd may have received a boost in their pursuit of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

United, Barcelona and PSG were all in the running to secure a deal for the 19-year-old.

However, it seemed that Juventus had won the race last month, but a deal has stalled in recent weeks.

It has now emerged that De Ligt is not as confident in a possible move to the Italian champions as it might have seemed, with reports claiming that he chose to phone Maurizio Sarri to see what his role might be with The Old Lady.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have claimed that the Champions League semi-finalist has made contact with the former Chelsea boss to ask what role he will play and what system the team might utilise next season.
