Love Island 2019: ‘Did she drunk hiccup?’ Amy Hart’s behaviour leaves viewers confused

Love Island viewers tuned in to see Maura Higgins and Lucie Donlan deliver a double blow to the boys they were coupled up with tonight.

Pulling them to the fire pit for a chat, Marvin Brooks and George Rains sat down to be told both their relationships were over.

But it was the scenes that followed, whereby many of the Islanders behaviour sparked confusion amongst the ITV2 fans, suggesting they had had one too many alcoholic beverages.

Express.co.uk contacted ITV for comment on the guidelines regarding alcohol within the villa and an official spokesperson said: “We take our duty of care and responsibility towards the Islanders very seriously and alcohol is limited and strictly monitored.”

Nevertheless, it came after Lucie began explaining to the boys: “Me and Maura feel the same, we’re just not really feeling it,” and then Maura pipes up and says she doesn’t feel there is a romantic connection between herself and Marvin.

Unhappy with the criticism, the Casa Amor newcomer hit back and argued: “I hear you but that is bulls**t. I’ve tried to overlook how you [Maura] have been cold.”

After agreeing to disagree, Marvin and George left the girls and walked to the kitchen where Amy Hart was standing around eating.

Explaining to her what had just gone on, Marvin said: “I didn’t like the way they talked to us and said to us in the way ‘we’ve given it a go, but we don’t like it’.

“No you didn’t give it a go. I don’t mind you not liking me, because we’re not that deep. I nearly said we’re not an Amy and Curtis [Pritchard].”

At that point the camera was on full view of Amy, who looked extremely tired, and as she went to put another piece food into her mouth, she hiccuped, causing some viewers to question whether she was drunk.

To add to this, Anna Vakili pulled Ovie Soko for a chat on the day beds to discuss where there relationship was heading, but the conversation turned volatile causing Ovie to storm off.

Those watching her behaviour at home wondered whether she too had also had too much alcohol.

Taking to Twitter, one person commented: “Why do these lot all look like they’re drunk up? #LoveIsland.”

“Is it me or are they all drunk? #LoveIsland,” another asked while a third said: “Is Anna drunk? #LoveIsland.”

Someone else wrote: “Wait, are all the girls drunk? #LoveIsland.”

“Anna has to be drunk because there’s no other explanation for the way she’s moving #LoveIsland,” a viewer suggested.

While one remarked: “Did Amy just drunk hiccup? #LoveIsland.

It comes after reports from previous years have suggested only two alcoholic drinks are allowed per contestant, with some refraining from drinking alcohol altogether while in the villa.

Ex-Islander Liana Isadora Van-Riel previously explained the drinking rules: “You’re allowed one or two drinks a night, either wine or beer, no spirits.”

She went on to say how the Islanders generally drank one alcoholic drink and stuck to tea or soft drinks instead.

Meanwhile, Love Island fans saw the episode end with a public vote.

With all the Islanders apart from Amber Gill and Jordan Hames coupled up, it was time for viewers to have their say and choose which pair was their favourite.

But who will be the next to be dumped from the island?

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2.
