Sophie Turner, 23, took to her Instagram stories last night to speak about the Alex Morgan controversy and in the process flashed her sparkly wedding band for all to see.
The newlywed actress is currently on honeymoon after tying the knot with pop star Joe Jonas in the South of France last weekend.
Their star-studded second wedding ceremony, which took place in a stunning 17th century chateau, followed a surprise Las Vegas service back in May.
Sophie and Joe have released one picture from their lavish French wedding to date, so her social media appearance was the first chance to get a closer look at her new diamond wedding ring.
The Game of Thrones star, who shot to fame playing Sansa Stark in the smash hit TV show, could be seen sporting an extra ring on her wedding finger in the footage.
The simple diamond wedding band perfectly complimenting her large engagement ring complete with exquisite pear-shaped diamond.
During the clip, Sophie told her 14.6 million followers that she was on her honeymoon but couldn’t resist addressing the Alex Morgan tribute which many fans thought was a dig at the UK.
The US women’s football star recently revealed that her goal celebration, which saw her sipping a cup of tea after scoring a goal against the England team, was in homage to a phrase regularly used by the English actress on Instagram.
The GOT star can often be heard on the social media site saying: ”and that’s the tea”, a catchphrase used to sign off after sharing news or her opinion on something.
Sophie said: “Alex Morgan, all the haters that are saying this was disrespectful, I’m honoured that you thought of me.”
Unsurprisingly she signed off her post with: “And that’s the mother f***ing tea” before sipping a large glass of red wine.
