Queen: Roger Taylor’s FAVOURITE song from the band revealed – it's THIS huge Number One

Taylor, along with Brian May, still plays with Queen to this day, alongside Adam Lambert on lead vocals.

They’re off on tour this month – taking The Rhapsody Tour around North America over the summer before heading to Asia, Australia and New Zealand in early 2020.

But what is Taylor’s absolute favourite Queen track?

He revealed the answer in an interview with Shortlist back in 2013 – and it’s one of the group’s best-selling tracks.

“For Queen I might pick Under Pressure,” he said.

“I just like that one, it could have been recorded better – technically – but it’s just a special song.”

Last year, the Official Charts Company revealed that Under Pressure, which features David Bowie, is Queen’s third best-selling track in this country.

The song hit No1 in 1981 and is behind only Bohemian Rhapsody in first and We Are The Champions in second.

But looking specifically at streaming numbers, it’s also in third place – although this time it polls behind Bohemian Rhapsody and Don’t Stop Me Now, with We Are The Champions down in eighth.

Don’t Stop Me Now has long been thought to be Brian May’s least favourite of all Queen’s tracks, and in an old interview he explained why it makes him somewhat conflicted.

“I thought it was a lot of fun, but yes, I did have an undercurrent feeling of – ‘oh, aren’t we talking about danger here?’” he told Absolute Radio in 2011.

“Because we were worried about Freddie at this point, and I think that feeling lingers.”

May reasoned that the “hedonistic” feel of the lyrics could be what’s helped its enduring appeal.

“I think it’s become almost the most successful track, as regards to what people play in the car or play at their weddings or whatever,” he said. “It’s become such a massive track.

“It’s become an anthem to people who just want to be hedonistic.

“And I have to say, a kind of stroke of genius from Freddie.”
