Toy Story 4 box office: Woody and friends best sequel slump to stay at number one in UK

Toy Story 4 has made the largest opening weekend profit for an animated movie, ever. The sequel is being heralded by critics and fans alike as one of the most emotional Toy Story movies yet. But with each passing week box office numbers dwindle and new movies move up to take the spotlight.

How has Toy Story 4 performed at the box office?

Though Toy Story 4 has surpassed Incredibles to have the highest opening weekend for an animated film, viewing is declining.

The second-weekend takings for Toy Story 4 are behind the rate at which Incredibles 2, Finding Dory, and Toy Story 3.

However, Toy Story 4‘s 10-day total is pacing 4 percent ahead of Toy Story 3 at the same point in time.

On Sunday morning, Deadline reported that Toy Story 4 saw a 23 percent rise in business on its second Saturday from Friday.

The sequel took £18.2m ($23m) giving it a weekend taking of £45,8m ($57.9m according to Disney).

This is a drop of 52 percent compared to its previous weekend.
