Liverpool players who could leave and the realistic teams who could sign them

Liverpool won’t be spending too much money this summer after splashing the cash over the past 18 months.

As Champions League winners, they’ll be expecting to push for the Premier League title once again this year with the same squad.

But a few players could be leaving Anfield as they’re surplus to requirements.

Among the main names that could be leaving are Nathaniel Clyne and Divock Origi.

Clyne has spent the past six months on loan at Bournemouth under Eddie Howe.

Klopp has a number of players in his right-back position that he largely prefers, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

Clyne therefore may be angling for a permanent move away from Liverpool as he tries to force his way back into Gareth Southgate’s thoughts.

The 28-year-old was at Crystal Palace for four years, up until 2012, and could be in line for a move back to Selhurst Park.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson will be looking for a new right-back after losing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United, and Clyne is a reliable and cheap option.

Another man that could be leaving Liverpool this summer is Divock Origi.

Despite having a knack of scoring crucial goals for the Reds, he’s never been Klopp’s first option as a centre forward, and will struggle to break into the team ahead of Roberto Firmino.

The Belgium international has been in talks with the club over a new contract, but he could be out the door if a decent offer comes in.

A number of Spanish clubs are rumoured to be interested in signing Origi.

Real Betis are reportedly the frontrunners for his signature.

But, Origi has just 12 months left on his current Liverpool contract, so they’d do well to recoup the £11m that they spent on him in 2014.

It’s unclear whether Origi would be open to a move elsewhere, but he’d likely have to take a pay cut if he did leave Anfield.

The striker could, however, freely speak to other clubs in January, if he wanted to hold out for another six months.
