Ivanka Trump: First Daughter's 'unwanted' G20 meeting sparks wave of internet parodies

Other images accompanied with the tag #unwantedivanka showed her standing to the side while six US marines raise the US flag on Mount Suribachi after the Battle of Iwo Jima in 1945.

She is also seen inside Elliot’s bike basket in ET and walking in front of the Beatles at Abbey Road.

Popular tweets showed her alongside American football star Colin Kaepernick when he took a knee during the US national anthem and alongside her father’s predecessor Barack Obama and 2016 Presidential rival Hilary Clinton as they received an update on the death of Osama bin Laden in the White House Situation Room.

Ms Trump, who according to insiders is planning to run for President herself, also attracted jibes at her appearance in the Demilitarised Zone.

She accompanied President Trump as he went to meet North Korean leader Kim Jog-Un.

Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Ortiz criticised her for even attending G20 in the first place: “It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification.

“It hurts our diplomatic standing when the president phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our president working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

Sarah Sanders, who left her role as White House Press Secretary at the end of last month, leaped to Ms Trump’s defence on Twitter: “Phoning it in @AOC is wasting your time on Twitter while destroying jobs in NY.

“@realDonaldTrump & @IvankaTrump actually created millions of new jobs and continue to make the US stronger on the global stage but thank you for reminding Americans everyday why they elected Trump.”

Ms Trump, the second child of Mr Trump and his first wife Ivana, has held several roles in her father’s businesses.

Having graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an economics degree she joined the Trump Organisation as an Executive Vice President.

She left her positions within the organisation upon joining the White House administration.
