Divorce season three is back with new showrunner Liz Tuccillo overseeing the HBO comedy. Originally created by Sharon Horgan, the series has been a favourite among viewers since it first aired in 2016. Here’s everything you need to know about when it starts and how many episodes there are in the new series.

When does Divorce season 3 start?

Divorce season three begins airing tonight (July 1) on HBO at 10pm PT.

The comedy-drama series was created by Sharon Horgan, who was also behind the hit show Catastrophe.

UK viewers won’t have to wait long to see the show as the brand new season of the show is released next Monday (July 8) on Sky Atlantic at 10pm BST.

After the show has aired on Sky Atlantic, subscribers will be able to stream it on the Now TV app.

How many episodes are there in Divorce season 3?

The new series of Divorce has six episodes, which follows the pattern of the show of reducing each season by two episodes.

Season one featured 10 episodes and series two was released in January 2018 with eight episodes.

Divorce season three is expected to follow the same format as the previous series with each episode running for 30 minutes each.

However, fans will be upset to hear Deadline has reported season three will be the last outing for the HBO comedy.

What will happen in Divorce season 3?

The show sees the return of Frances Dufresne (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) and her group of eccentric friends

After her character has an affair, she and her husband Robert (Thomas Haden Church) decide to get a divorce.

Season three picks up after the pair have finalised the process and sees their lives head in new directions with new partners.

Robert is preparing to get married to his fiancé Jackie (Becki Newton) as the pair seem to be living in apparent harmony.

Meanwhile, Frances and her new boyfriend Henry (James Lesure) are struggling to make friends with her ex-husband.

Her friend Diane (Molly Shannon) also ends up staying with Frances at her apartment while her husband Nick (Tracy Letts) is in prison.

In the trailer, Frances says: “The fabric of our family is changing. I don’t want there to be tension.”

This looks to be easier said than done as the show will see her and her ex-husband face a fair few issues as they co-parent their children.

The official synopsis from HBO reads: “Divorce follows Frances and her ex-husband, Robert as they encounter several bombshell surprises that spin their post-divorce lives in completely unexpected directions.”
