Democratic debate 2019: Fiery clash erupts as Biden’s race record attacked in huge row

With the US nation watching on, Democratic frontrunner Mr Biden was attacked by rival Senator Kamala Harris. According to the BBC, Ms Harris, the only black woman standing among 20 Democrats, savaged him for working with racist senators and having once voted against a policy aimed at supporting diversity in schools. Mr Biden responded by claiming she had “mischaracterized” his position.

Ten candidates took to the stage to stake their claim to be the nominee to run against US President Donald Trump.

She said to Mr Biden: “I do not believe you are a racist and I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground.

“But I also believe, and it’s personal and I was actually very, it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country.

“And it was not only that but you also worked with them racist senators to oppose bussing.

“And there was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public school and she was bussed to school every day and that little girl was me.”

Mr Biden hit back: “It’s a mischaracterization of my position across the board: I did not praise racists. That is not true.”

On Wednesday, the other batch of candidates took to the debate.

But commenting on it, Trump attacked the candidates simply saying: “BORING!”

Recently Trump has attacked the allies of the US who, in his opinion, have taken advantage of their agreements with America.

Moreover, Trump also stated in the lead up to the G20 summit, that the US would “fight World War 3” if Japan were attacked.

He added: “If Japan is attacked, we will fight World War 3 with our lives and with our treasure.

“If we’re attacked, Japan doesn’t have to help us at all.”
