Avengers Endgame re-release: Robert Downey Jr calls on fans to help DEFEAT Avatar record

Tomorrow Avengers Endgame’s re-release hits cinemas around the world. The new version is the same cut of the epic but includes several minutes of bonus content after the end credits. Avengers Endgame’s box office is only around $37 million away from topping Avatar’s highest-grossing movie of all-time record. And now Robert Downey Jr himself has called on fans to see Avengers Endgame one more time.

The Iron Man star wrote on Twitter: “Get a new re-release on life and make #ENDGAME #1…

“C’mon, there’s ‘new stuff’ and everything…”

The tweet included the Avengers Endgame re-release poster of the Stark Gauntlet in a fist, with the line “We Love You 3000” below it.

So what bonus content will feature at the end of this version exactly?

Well according to Marvel insiders, there’s an introduction from directors The Russo Brothers, an unfinished deleted scene with the Hulk, a Stan Lee tribute and a short tease for Spider-Man Far From Home.

The latter, which is released next week on July 2, will presumably also bring Avengers Endgame back into the Top 10 for one final push to beat Avatar.

Similarly, Captain Marvel’s box office shot up as Avengers Endgame debuted in late April.

Meanwhile, Avengers Endgame has already topped Avatar’s original theatrical run record of $2,749,064,328, before the Marvel film’s new version with bonus content is out.

Some movie fans believe the Avengers Endgame re-release is cheating, but Avatar’s total includes its own.

James Cameron released an extended version of the movie, a year after the original theatrical run, which made an extra $38.9 million for its box office total.

But of course if inflation is taken into account Avatar is still miles ahead, but we’re pretty sure Marvel Studios don’t care too much.

Avengers Endgame is re-released in UK cinemas tomorrow.
