PES 2019 and Horizon Chase Turbo named PS Plus free games for PS4 July 2019

The news was revealed by Sony today, who announced that both PS4 games would be available to download next week.

Both titles will be hitting the PlayStation Store on Tuesday, July 2, and will be replacing the current lineup.

Sonic Mania and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will remain available until the PS Store refresh.

This means PS4 gamers still have a short time to add both games to their collection, before the PS Plus July 2019 changes begin.

Horizon Chase Turbo is the last known of the two games which will be available to download next week.

But a quick look on Metacritic will confirm that the retro racing game has been well-received by both fans and reviewers alike.

Horizon Chase Turbo is inspired by games from the 80’s and 90’s, such as OutRun, Top Gear, Rush and others.

The classic arcade gameplay makes for an interesting inclusion for July 2019, especially as many gamers may not have it in their collection.

It provides the perfect excuse for downloading Chase Turbo on your PlayStation 4 console, especially when you consider it will take up less than 1GB in space.

“Prepare for a blast of pure ’90s nostalgia with Horizon Chase Turbo, a love-letter to the iconic, just-one-more-go racers of the arcade’s golden age,” the official game description reads.

“Drawing inspiration from the likes of Out Run, Top Gear and Rush, developer Aquaris Game Studio captures the essence of the 16-bit era with style, with modern visuals, a thumping soundtrack with insane arpeggios and classic split-screen couch multiplayer.

“Play solo or grab up to three friends. You’ll pilot your car through extraordinary places, watching the sun setting, facing rain, snow, volcanic ashes and even severe sandstorms.”

The other titles available to download in July will be PES 2019 – or Pro Evolution Soccer 2019.

PES 2019 may only appeal to footy fans but it will be worth checking out ahead of the release of the next game in the franchise, and FIFA 20.

“From Konami’s long-running sports franchise, PES 2019 features a huge selection of real-world licensed leagues alongside hundreds of familiar players, bringing the thrill of global competition directly to your living room,” the official game description reads.

“Create magic moments on and off the pitch, with each player possessing their own traits that will affect how they react in the moment, while myClub and Master League modes allow you to pursue your own club career.

“Enjoy local play for up to four players, or go online and test your skills against the world.”

The official PlayStation Plus lineup for July was announced earlier today by Sony PlayStation.
