Holly Willoughby, 38, took to the picture-sharing site where she uploaded a short video which was captioned “Say it, Sing it, Normalise it”. The This Morning star admitted although the word vagina was “very funny” the clip contained an “important message” for her followers. In view of her 5.6 million followers, the ITV favourite captioned the post: “Yes! Let’s normalise the word vagina!… this is fantastic… @eveappeal although very funny it’s such an important message… xxx”.(sic) The cheeky video featured music videos from popular musicians including Girls Aloud’s hit Something Kinda Ooh, before it cut into Holly and her co-star Phillip on the daytime programme saying the word vagina.
The clip certainly caught the attention of her fans with the post gaining over 90,000 likes in under an hour.
Fans rushed to comment on the post, with some people seemingly baffled as one person said: “As far as I’m concerned, vaginas are normal!”
Another person commented: “Just played the video on full volume whilst on lunch in middle of busy restaurant..now everyone knows about vaginas.”
A third person added: “This is hilarious! Although, I didn’t think there was such an issue and I don’t really see the problem in people calling their vagina whatever they wish.”
Others certainly saw the funny side of the video, with one person said: “Brilliant,” while anther person said: “This is genius”.
Holly’s “normalising vagina” declaration comes as part of a wider campaign launched by The Eve Appeal which aims to provide women with the right information and confidence to talk clearly about anatomy and symptoms in order to better diagnose key health concerns, including the five gynaecological cancers.
The charity have since launched Get Lippy 2019 which is about talking openly and breaking down social taboos about gynaecological health whilst raising money for research into women’s health.
Meanwhile, the mother-of-three took to Instagram and shared a stunning photo of herself sporting a navy blue ensemble.
Holly looked chic in a Parisian inspired mid-length dress which she team with a pair of open-toe sandals.
The gorgeous dress featured landmarks from the French city of Paris.
Rocking her blonde tresses in her signature style, the beauty added a red lip to her look.
She captioned the photo: “Morning Thursday… today’s #hwstyle on @thismorning dress by @majeparis shoes by @dune_london.”
Fans were enamoured with her graceful style, as one person gushed: “Beautiful Holly! I adore your dress.”
Another person said: “Lovely dress Holly you look beautiful as always.”
While a third person added: “The patterns on that dress looks fancy. It looks to have famous landmarks on it.”
