Avengers Endgame: Tom Hiddleston teases Loki Disney Plus show as ‘new departure’ from MCU

He was strangled to death by Thanos in Avengers Infinity War’s opening scene but returned in thanks to time travel during Avengers Endgame. However, messing with the timeline means Loki’s future is looking somewhat uncertain. The prime timeline’s god of mischief is definitely dead, but the alternate 2012 Loki escaped with the Space Stone. Perhaps the upcoming Disney Plus TV show will be focused on what happens next?

Well, for now, Tom Hiddleston is keeping his mouth shut apart from the initial tease.

Speaking about his future as Loki, he told The Hollywood Reporter: “It is a constant source of surprise and delight that these films have connected with people.

“I knew he was a complex figure. Intelligent yet vulnerable. Angry and lost and broken and witty.

“I thought it was an amazing opportunity and it’s grown into this network of movies. I could never have expected it.”

Apparently, Steve Rogers may be seen chasing alternate Loki in the miniseries, on the super soldier’s journey – as set up in Avengers Endgame – through time returning the Infinity Stones.

Speaking with Business Insider, the directors said of Cap: “The intent was that he was going to correct the past timelines at the point that the stones left.

“Loki, when he teleports away with the [Space] Stone, would create his own timeline.

“It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki.”
