Amanda Holden: Heart FM host lands new role alongside Jamie Redknapp in huge move

Amanda Holden, 48, has just started hosting her new breakfast slot on Heart FM and now she will be returning to the small-screen.

The Britain’s Got Talent will be replacing James Corden as a guest judge on A League of Their Own.

It was previously announced the Gavin and Stacey star wasn’t going to be as present on the show, due to his commitments in the US.

And Amanda will be taking over for one of the shows in the new series, which also features Jamie Redknapp.

Other guests hosts on the programme include former panelist, Jack Whitehall, Clare Balding, David Walliams, Dina Asher Smith and Romesh Ranganathan.

Romesh will still be joining Jamie’s team while Freddie Flintoff is also returning.

Guests taking part in the new series include Tony Bellew, Harry Redknapp, Max Whitlock; speed skater, Elise Christie and Helen Skelton.

Meanwhile, Amanda has been opening up to listeners on her Heart FM Radio Breakfast show.

Yesterday, the age-defying beauty was joined by Good Morning Britain host, Piers Morgan, on her show, along with Jamie Theakston.

Piers soon began to question Amanda on why she has never returned the favour and appeared on his programme.

However, Amanda joked she won’t be gong on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories anytime soon as everyone knows her “life story”.

Reflecting on their history, the TV personality replied: “You already know my life story, you splashed it across the papers.”

Amanda appeared to be referring to Piers’ time as the editor of the Daily Mirror, when numerous stories were published about her marital woes with her first husband, Les Dennis.

The former husband-and-wife divorced in 2003 after affair rumours put their marriage on the rocks.

Elsewhere on the show, Piers got electrocuted by Amanda, as he refused to answer some tough questions put to him.

Amanda used an electric shock pen to get her the TV presenter to confess who he prefers out of Lord Alan Sugar or Jeremy Clarkson.

He answered: “Oh my god. Talk about death by hanging or death by garrotting. No, do I have to take either? Seriously, I’d rather take the pain than choose. I’d rather be electrocuted.”

The star also revealed he met his wife, Celia Walden, after a speech he made in front of 1,000 people fell flat.

He spilled: “I was doing a speech on front of 1000 people – magazine editors – in some fancy hotel in Mayfair and I absolutely died on my backside to the extent that they were openly jeering me, and the only person that was laughing was Celia, who I’d never met, and I went ‘who’s that?’.

“She said ‘that just bombed’ and I said ‘I thought that was hilarious’ but she was laughing really at my discomfort. So I realised then that she would be perfect bride material!”

A League of Their Own will air on Sky One and streaming service NOW TV later this year.
