Amid rising tensions with Iran, Trump has warned that if any country attacked Japan, he would fight “World War 3”. Speaking to Fox News’ Business Network, Trump spoke of the bilateral trade deals of the G20 summit. During his phone interview, Trump said: “If Japan is attacked, we will fight World War 3 with our lives and with our treasure.
“If we’re attacked, Japan doesn’t have to help us at all.”
Trump also insisted that if the US were under attack, Japan “could watch in on a Sony television”.
During the same interview, Trump also attacked China over stalled trade talks.
Moreover, the US President claimed that China is bearing the full brunt of US tariffs this year.

He added: “Don’t play. Don’t let anyone tell you that China’s not paying for it.
“China’s paying for it.
“We’re not paying for any of it.”
In his scathing interview, Trump also attacked other countries for taking advantage of their respective trade deals with the US.

The US President said: “Almost all countries in this world take tremendous advantage of the United States.
Trump’s comments on Wednesday come following a report from Bloomberg which stated that he was considering pulling out of a longstanding treaty between the US and Japan.
The two countries have established close democratic and military ties since they signed the Treaty of San Francisco in 1951, officially ending World War Two.
