Weight loss: The 'secret' behind Gemma Collins’ 3st transformation – diet plan revealed

Ever since she rose to fame on ITVBe’s The Only Way is Essex, Gemma Collins has been open about her weight battle. Over the years, her weight has fluctuated, with Gemma referring to herself as a “plus-size fashionista”. Following her appearance on ITV’s Dancing on Ice earlier this year however, the 38-year-old managed to slim down and shed a whopping 3st, with many fans taking to social media to praise her on her incredible transformation. “Thanks for all your weight loss comments my hard work is defo (sic) paying off,” she told her Instagram followers.

So how did she do it?

Weight Loss specialists SkinnyJab – who offer injections to suppress hunger – recently revealed that they are the force behind Gemma’s weight loss.

Sharing a post on their website, therapist Caroline Balata – who has been working secretly with Gemma – said: ”Its an absolute pleasure and honour working with Gemma and to help her not only lose weight but to adopt a more healthy lifestyle. We still have a way to go, but progress is fantastic and we are currently filming every step of her journey.”

The injections –  which cost £250 for a three-week programme and £135 for additional top up shots – can see patients lose just over a stone in three weeks.

The fat-loss injections work by suppressing the appetite so the patient’s hunger is reduced, which therefore stops them from reaching for the snacks every time they feel peckish.
SkinnyJab’s website reads: “An appetite suppressant used in the SkinnyJab plan can regulate the glucose level in your blood, allowing your body to use your stored fat for energy.

“This means that you can safely consume small portions without experiencing the undesired effects of starvation mode.”

The injections also claim to shrink the stomach by “preparing your body to expect less food.”

The site adds that the injections are suitable for anyone between the ages of 18 and 76, and that the suppressant regulates good glucose levels, which allows the body to turn stored fat into energy.

Since appearing on Dancing on Ice, Gemma has lost a lot weight after undergoing gruelling training sessions with her professional dance partner Matt Evers, which saw her burn up to 1,500 calories pre rehearsal.

Gemma seems to be happy with the results she’s seen so far, regularly treating her fans to photos of herself.

In a recent interview on ITV’s Lorraine, she gushed: “I’ve always had a big butt but now I’ve deffo (sic) got a Beyoncé butt. I feel a lot more confident and definitely feel fitter and I’m thoroughly enjoying it.”

She previously hinted that she’d lost the weight due to eating a vegan diet, sharing a slimmed down photo to her 1.3 million followers, with the hashtags “veganlifestyle” and “eatlifenotdeath.”

Since her weight loss, Gemma has been determined to slim down even further. According to insiders, she wants her boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent to jump on the weight loss bandwagon as well.

This week it was reported that Gemma had given Arg an ultimatum after he ballooned in weight.

An insider close to the GC told heat magazine: “Gemma’s taken him back on the proviso that he commits to a healthy eating regime, considers spending time with her in LA, and stays away from other girls while they’re apart.

“She’s told him he has to be 100 per cent loyal to her, as she’s not putting in all this effort to be made a fool of.”

This Morning Presenter Alison Hammond has also impressed many with her weight loss.

The 44-year-old has lost an incredile amount of weight on the Weight Watchers diet.
