P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro owners finally receive good news after weeks of disappointment

Huawei P20 Pro and the Mate 20 Pro are two incredible Chinese devices; both come with great camera systems, designs and have batteries that can easily power over a day of usage.

However, both flagships were recently struck by an Android ban from Google that complied with the US government’s decision to place Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. on a trade blacklist.

While the block has since been lifted temporarily until August 19, it has had a massive impact on the trade-in prices of both handsets.

MusicMagpie, a UK retailer, is currently only offering owners of a Mate 20 Pro or P20 Pro £75 and £50 respectively for either in “good” condition.

Such a figure represents a huge plunge in the resell value for both handsets.

While such news will surely be disappointing for owners of either product, Huawei has just announced something for fans to look forward to.

The Chinese tech giant recently outlined its release plans for EMUI 9.1, the current version of its Android skin.

EMUI 9.1 debuted on the Huawei P30 Pro and comes with a number of notable features.

Chief of these is called GPU Turbo 3.0 and attempts to improve gaming performance by increasing frame rates and also ensuring hardware stays at a reasonable temperature.

Moreover, 9.1 also allows the Huawei product to showcase icons for third-party notification on a device’s always-on display.

The new version of the skin also brings incremental improvements such as an altered settings menu.

EMUI 9.1 started rolling out for owners in beta form back in April but Huawei has now revealed when owners of the P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro can expect to receive the fully fledged version of the skin.

In a post on Weibo, the Chinese firm said Mate 20 Pro owners can expect to receive 9.1 later this month while P20 Pro fans will get it a month later.
