Melania Trump was ‘biggest problem’ to Donald’s 2016 presidential bid, former aide claims

The First Lady’s reaction to Donald Trump announcing he was running to be President was predicted to be very negative. Trump allegedly told his aide he was “going to get in trouble” ahead of the announcement, Newsweek reported. The claim has been detailed in the book The Method to the Madness: Donald Trump’s Ascent as Told by Those Who Were Hired, Fired, Inspired—and Inaugurated by journalists Allen Salkin and Aaron Short.

The former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg is said to have asked Trump: “What’s our biggest problem going to be?”

To which he allegedly replied: “You know what our biggest problem’s going to be, and I’m going to get in trouble upstairs.”

Mr Nurnberg explained the comment was about Melania.

But he added Trump didn’t specify anything.

Mr Nurnberg added “Melania really believed” Trump would win the presidency.

He said: “She wasn’t blowing smoke up his ass.

“She thought he was going to win the whole thing.

“I like her a lot, by the way. She gets a raw deal in all of this. She gets very high ratings.”

His claims come just a week after Trump launched his re-election bid with Melania by his side.

The First Lady introduced her husband ahead of his speech.

She said: “I’m proud of my husband, his administration and our entire family have done on behalf of the American people.

“He truly loves this country. He will continue to work on your behalf as long as he can.”
