Rachel Riley, 33, and her boyfriend Pasha Kovalev, 39, got involved in a funny exchange as they both realised they were clueless about the meaning of the term “third base”. The couple addressed the sexual comment while watching bawdy comedy American Pie during last week’s episode of Celebrity Gogglebox. The Countdown presenter and the former Strictly Come Dancing professional, who are expecting their first baby together, appeared to be baffled by the suggestive comments made in the movie by character Jim Levenstein. Describing an intimate stage in a relationship, the teenager, played by Jason Biggs, 41, said to one of his pals: “Correct me if I’m wrong but you’re the one with the girlfriend and you’re still on third base.”
The cheeky conversation in the film prompted confusion from Rachel and Pasha, who were relaxing on their sofas in front of the TV.
The Russian dancer instantly turned to ask his beau in response: “Hold on, what’s third base?”
Unfortunately, Rachel was just as bemused by the subject, as she admitted: “I’ve never understood bases.”
In an attempt to figure out what the term meant, Pasha suggested: “I know first and second I think.”
The mathematics expert interjected as she wondered: “Is first kissing?”
The conversation between the pair then suddenly became more racy as Rachel asked: “Is second touching boobs?”
During their first appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, Rachel and Pasha opened up about their unborn baby’s gender.
While chatting about whether they know if they’re having a boy or a girl, the TV personality said to her other half: “It’s too early.”
In reference to a recent sonogram, she added: “I can’t see a penis!”
However, the star also admitted it may be too early to tell.
She continued: “But they said it was too early so I might just be insulting our son.”
Rachel revealed she and Pasha would be starting a family together last month on Instagram.
In view of her 396,000 followers, she shared a photo of herself standing next to the Countdown board while cradling her blossoming bump.
On the board, the letters spelled “R TINY MATE”, an anagram of “maternity”.
The former Strictly contestant captioned the sweet image: “Pash and I have a conundrum for you…you have till December to work it out!
“We’re over the moon excited.”
