This week will see the PS Plus July 2019 free games announced by Sony PlayStation.
This will happen on Wednesday, June 26, and will see two new PS4 games becoming available to download as part of an active membership.
These two new titles will not be available straight after the announcement as fans will have to wait until the big PlayStation Store refresh.
This will happen on Tuesday, July 2, which is also when the current batch of titles will disappear.
So fans still have plenty of time to download the likes of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania.
But July will also see new exclusive content released for one of the PS4’s biggest games.
Fans may have missed its reveal earlier in June, but new PS Plus bonuses for Red Dead Online are coming soon.
The first PlayStation Plus rewards have already been announced by Sony and will be arriving not long after the July free games.
These new bonuses will only be available to those Red Dead Online players with an active PS Plus membership.
And due to the subscription service’s multiplayer nature, we can pretty sure that most future rewards will be in association with Red Dead Online, rather than the single-player mode.
And while the new PS Plus rewards will not be complete game-changers for fans online, they will certainly help boost their positions ahead of the big Summer expansion release.
Here’s more from Sony PlayStation, who confirmed in a recent announcement: “We’re excited to share that in addition to these ongoing benefits, Red Dead Online players with a PlayStation Plus membership will receive special awards each month.
“Starting 10th June, all players with PlayStation Plus that play Red Dead Online by 8th July on PS4 will get three free treasure maps. The award will be sent to you within 24 hours of your first play session.
“Visit the Post Office or your Camp’s Lockbox to retrieve the treasure maps and then use your satchel to open them up.
“The treasure map will reveal a location on your map to explore, ride out to the area and use Eagle Eye to search for your rewards, which could include Gold Nuggets, Cash, Ammo, Tonics, and Crafting Pamphlets.
“Stay tuned each month for more details on new monthly benefits in Red Dead Online.”
July will be the first month for the new PS Plus bonuses, which will require players to log in sometime during the month to qualify for the next batch of in-game goodies.
Sony and Rockstar Games announced the first batch of PS Plus rewards in early June, meaning we might hear more about what is being planned for August after the July loot goes live.
If you don’t own Red Dead Redemption 2 or have no interest in playing its online mode, you can always score some new loot for your Fortnite account.
As many fans will already know, Fortnite Battle Royale is one of the biggest games in the world, following its launch on the PlayStation 4 console in 2017.
And a new cosmetic was released for PlayStation Plus gamers earlier in June, that can be downloaded today at no extra cost.
The Fortnite: Battle Royale – PlayStation Plus Celebration Pack description reads: “Grab a glider, a skydiving contrail and a loading screen to represent your Victory Royale in style.
The Celebration Packs adds a Coaxial Blue glider, a Blue Fusion contrail and a Loading screen to your account.
More PS Plus game bonuses are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, following the release of the new PS4 free games.
