Emmerdale spoilers: Victoria Sugden’s baby taken by Lee Posner in savage custody battle?

Emmerdale resident Victoria Sugden (played by Isabel Hodgins) has always wanted to be a mother and when she found love with Adam Barton (Adam Thomas) she thought her future calling was secure until he ran off to France and left her high and dry.

Throughout the last year, the Woolpack chef has faced some extremely difficult life challenges; viewers will remember the false pregnancy with ex-boyfriend Ellis Chapman (Asan N’Jie) and then more recently being violently raped and impregnated by Lee Posner following a night out in Hotton.

Whilst the circumstances in which she conceived her baby were horrific, Victoria has made the brave decision to keep the baby and raise it herself.

But, following recent scenes whereby Lee has begun doing everything he can to punish her apparent accusations, what will he do when he finds out she is pregnant with his child?

And are the chances of her protecting her child from the vicious attacker slim?

Express.co.uk spoke exclusively to Rebecca Calden-Storr a Managing Partner and Laura-Faye Trainor a Solicitor at Stowe Family Law about Victoria’s upcoming struggles.

Wondering whether Lee would try and seek access or even custody of the child, they said: “In a real-life scenario it is extremely unlikely that Lee would have contact with the child.

“By virtue of his actions, he is a significant risk to Victoria and the child.”

A few weeks ago, Victoria visited the police station and made an official statement regarding the sexual attack she endured, however with very little evidence to suggest he forced her into bed without her consent, the case remains open but stagnant.

Nevertheless, considering the claims made against him, the advice from the experts suggests Lee has very little chance of getting hold of Victoria’s baby or even having a relationship with the child.

While the “right outcome” has been achieved from the storyline, many are hoping for Maya to return to screens so she can get her comeuppance.

One Twitter viewer said: “So, I’m to assume this isn’t the end for the Maya story line, as @emmerdale said it would get the true justice it deserves!??”

Another went further: “Maya will be out in time for the Christmas special to announce she’s pregnant. Just as Jacob and his dad reconcile. But who’s baby is it?”

Is this the last time viewers will see Maya?
