Carol Vorderman, 58, was joined on BBC Radio Wales with her co-star Ameer where the pair asked listeners to let them know what costume they would wear to a party. The former Countdown star urged listeners to tweet in their suggestions, before her co-star mentioned the infamous outfit worn by Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, 56, for the film Pirates of the Caribbean. Ammer said: “[Listener] Gary has tweeted, without a doubt Captain Jack Sparrow.” Carol replied: “Oh yes, Pirates of the Carribbean. Good choice that. I like that.”
The presenter then reminisced about a time when she herself was incorrectly linked to the star after somebody had hinted the film star was moving to Bristol to be “closer” to the Countdown legend.
She said: “So I live in Bristol and I used to live near Portishead which is on the Severn Esturay.
“Somewhere, somehow, somebody said that the actor Johnny Depp’s moving to Bristol, and that he was going to buy a house near my house there.”
As she piqued her co-star’s interest, the age-defying beauty continued: “I bought this in a supermarket and it said ‘Johnny Depp moving to be closer to Carol Vorderman’.
“Totally made-up story, not by me but by someone else.”
“And it had this picture of a supermarket with Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow,” Carol explained.
Unable to hide to content her laughter, she added: “They had it photoshopped of him walking into [the supermarket] like that. It was a totally made up story.
“But anyway, it amused me at the time.”
Elsewhere, Carol took to Twitter ahead of appearance on BBC Radio Wales as she showcased her toned physique in tight lycra leggings.
Branding herself “Elastigirl”, the blonde beauty sent her followers into a frenzy as she revealed she was learning to do the splits live on-air.
Sporting a long sleeved grey blouse tucked into her leggings, she uploaded a snap of herself in the studios.
In view of her 404,000 followers, she captioned the post: “Not quite ELASTIGIRL for @bbcradiowales this morning (I couldn’t find her mask!!!! So next week)…just some daft lycra pants cos I’m learning the splits in half an hour…..ouch @raertheakerx @bengomedia. Join me online…In Just a minute.”(sic)
Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one person said: “Love your trousers.”
Another person commented: “You need a health warning @carolvorders You’ll be knocking fellas out looking that hot.”(sic)
While a third person added: “Disco queen don’t snap yourself in two Carol doing the splits ouch good luck.”
