Galaxy Watch and Gear S3 could soon be rivalled by something new from Samsung

Samsung is no stranger to launching wearables.

The Korean technology firm has released numerous devices over the past few years with the current Gear S3 and Galaxy Watch two of their best yet.

Now it seems something new is on the horizon with Samsung rumoured to be working on an all-new smartwatch.

Although details remain scarce, SamMobile is reporting that Samsung has officially codenamed the new device “Renaissance”.

The website is also suggesting that this successor to the Galaxy Watch could be launched at the same time as the new Galaxy Note 10.

If that’s true, Samsung fans could get their first glimpse of this phone in early August.

In fact, a leak earlier this week has hinted that the next Unpacked event will take place in New York on August 7.

Although not much else is know about the “Renaissance”, it seems almost certain that Samsung will boost the internals of this device bringing more power, extra battery life and brighter display.

We can also expect there to be some upgrades to the design and improvements to the fitness features.

One final rumour is that Samsung might bring a Digital Bezel to their next watch which would replace the current physical wheel found on some of the firm’s devices.

To back this up, a trademark was recently spotted which suggests this upgrade could be coming soon.

Samsung needs to produce something pretty spectacular with these new devices as it is still playing catch up with the Apple Watch.

This popular tech timepiece continues to lead the way in the wearables market.

Apple is also set to release its new watchOS 6 operating system in September which will add bonus features including the ability to use the watch as noise monitor.

In watchOS 6, users will get access to a new Noise app which monitors background sound levels via a real-time decibel meter.

If things get too loud then you can be alerted to stop any damage happening to your hearing.

Other extra includes new apps such as a calculator, improved health monitoring and there’s also some new faces in this operating system.

The war of the smartwatches could reignite this autumn and there might be some big new updates coming very soon.
